Welcome! This wiki contains mainly articles about IT, linux, hardware, opensource, hacking, networking, etc.. but the content-type is really free.

Also, I will publish here scripts and programs I make, and there are pages for projects I'm working on.

Overview

The luks-tools package contains various utilities for working with LUKS-protected filesystems. HAL uses these utilities to automatically mount encrypted volumes when they are attached to a system, provided the user can produce the correct passphrase. These utilities are written as separate programs to allow MAC systems like SELinux to have fine-grained control over them.

This tutorial is about how to set up a crypted partition on linux using dmcrypt.

Of course, you can use either fisical partitions or files using a loopback device.

Loopback or partition?

A loopback means that you have a file that is on a partition that you then mount using a special device called a loopback. The loop device then acts as a normal block device transforming your file into just another hard disk :)

What is

POPPost is a module for Drupal that watches a POP3 mailbox and creates nodes from incoming emails.

How it works

Mail reading is scheduled by cron. Every time it runs:

	* connects to the mailbox and download new mails
	* parse mails using mimemail to extract content: headers, parts, attachments, ...
	* saves the content of the mail in a table (useful for debugging, but can be avoided in future)
	* if the mail matches some conditions, create a node
	* mark the mail as processed i…

Purpose

This script allows you to rename files using graphical windows instead of pure "mv" command line.
It's useful to fastly rename a quite large amount of files without rewriting their names.

It could use any dialog-compatible dialog windows generator.. I'm using ncurses 'dialog' now, 'cause I like it, but you can adjust the DIALOG variable to use the program you like (eg. Xdialog, gdialog, kdialog, zenity, ...)

NOTE: Some programs as kdialog use different option parameters, so please ta…

This page is abuot managing Motorola mobile phones with linux.

If you're looking for how to install linux on your phone or wich motorola phones runs natively linux-based firmware, see linux_on_motorola.

Connect the phone

Via-cable

I use a standard mini-usb cable to connect my L6 to the computer.. I don't know which are other cables used by motorola phones.

To talk with the phone, we need the cdc-acm module compiled in the kernel

A simple tool to view system informations (such as uname, uptime, cpu/mem usage, active processes, etc.) using jQuery and FLOT to generate client-side dynamic graphs.
It is in a very-alpha state, with only a few sensors available, but the idea is to create something between gkrellm and munin, with both historical info (maybe graphs will be then generated server-side using a graphic library such as LibGD) and current-status dynamic graphs.
